An easy-to-make laundry soap that saves money and the Earth.
Pour one half cup of borax and one cup of washing soda in a pot with 4 cups of water. Set it on the stove on low to medium until dissolved.
If using bar soap, shred it with a box grater or food processor. Add it to a pot with 4 cups of water and cook on low to medium until dissolved.
Once everything is dissolved, dump contents of pot(s) into a small bucket (two gallons is a good size), with remainder of water. If using liquid soap, add it now. Stir to combine.
Use 1/2 cup of mixture per load of laundry.
